Vid Rajin was born on 12. 02. 1987. in Belgrade, Serbia. He graduated at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade 2011 (animation and illustration department). He finished Philological Highschool (classical languages). He won the 'Beta and Rista Vukanovic Fund' award for the best work in the graphics field. He is an animation coodinator of NGO Media Education Centre which teaches media literacy to young people. His animation Democracy Is To Choose brought him to the finals of the Democracy Video Challenge, organised by the US State Department. His poster and diploma animation CINEMAtaclysm have been shown at the Zlatno Pero biennale of illustration in Belgrade 2011. Same animation was in the official selection of 2011 Animacam Online Festival. Cave Animator animation won the third prize of International Student Travel Video Contest 2011. He made several other short animated films, some of which were shown in festivals in Germany, South Korea, USA, Holland, Sweden, Greece, Hungary and Serbia. He participated in the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth International Youth Media Summit (as a diplomat in Los Angeles and as a Youth Committee member in Belgrade). He held animation classes at Elementary School 'Kralj Petar I' during 2011 in Belgrade. His illustration Eden won the 3rd prize at the 'Bound to Nature' online competition and was exhibited in the Austrian Cultural Forum in Belgrade 2010. His t-shirt design has been included in UNiTE exhibitions held in Bangkok, Geneva and New York in 2011. He also participated three times in the Summer Camp on human rights in Italy, presented his organisation at Creative Entrepreneurship Youth In Action workshop in Cyprus, and worked as a young educator during Animate IT! On Western Balkan animation workshop in Becej. He made a flipbook which was used as advertising material for lightning company Buck during Light + Building fair in Frankfurt. His other hobbies are making comic books and writing. His comics were shown at the Belgrade Comic Fare in 2006. and 2008. He illustrated for the magazine Politikin Zabavnik. One of his stories was published in the Antidepresiv Short Story Anthology and the Anthology of Bor library. His works were shown at the RTS exlibris exhibition, and the student exhibitions of Academy of Applied Arts. He was invited to Sweden in 2009 and 2012 to hold several presentations, lectures and animation workshops. As one of the group leaders of a student exchange program, he took youngsters to Los Angeles for a month. He won best special effects award during Swedish Video Film Festival. In April 2010 he was invited to Dresden Film Festival Exchange Forum. He participarted in Daumenreise animation workshop by Maya Yonesho in May 2010, helped organise Tara International Film Camp, Animate It workshops in Pec during Anibar International Animation Festivals 2010-2011, as well as Self Images & Human Rights Workshop in Prizren 2010. He designed and illustrated 'Cyber Fairy Tales' book, presented at the Belgrade Book Fare. He worked on a feature film 'Doctor Ray And The Devils' as a credit list and poster designer. He is currently teaching animation at Media Education Centre and designing catalogues for Film Archives Kinoteka in Belgrade, Serbia.
