‘The Road Vikings’ is the upcoming film by ‘Fish&Elephant Productions’ from Sweden. It is our second collaboration project, first one being ‘Death In A Lawless Town’. My job is to create animated introduction, various still shots, design logos and the official poster.

As the name suggests, ‘The Road Vikings’ is a bikergang movie blazing with high speed chases, violent conflicts, explicit sexuality and overall rampage. Not long after our previous project, Peter and Iain from ‘Fish&Elephant’ approached me with a proposal to design logos for their next film. Even though I was flooded with obligations at that time, it was a pleasure to work on some new concepts. They were kind enough to even offer me a leather vest with my illustration on it!

Having finished work on the logos (two of them are mine, since I couldn’t make the third one in time), the filmmakers asked me if I’m willing to animate the opening sequence. Unfortunately, I had to turn down their offer, since I had to concentrate on the upcoming book of futuristic fairy tales. There was also a new Democracy Video Challenge involved, as a food for thought.

Meanwhile, the production team hired another animator from abroad to make a 3D opening. Their communication broke down, however, so several months later Peter and Iain approached me again. This time, I had a choice to make: either to concentrate on my newest entry at Democracy Video Challenge, or continue cooperating with the Swedish team.

The decision wasn’t easy, but the choice I made is certainly a lot of fun. After all, cooperation with other people is the way I envision my possible future as an animator.
